2014 Marathon + Half Will Take Place on Sunday, April 27th. 5K and Children’s Race on Saturday, April 26th

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA -- the City of San Luis Obispo and it’s hoteliers will return as the Title Sponsor of the 2014 San Luis Obispo Marathon + Half presented by LeftLaneSports.com. With the tremendous growth of the 2013 race and sold out hotels county-wide, the City of San Luis Obispo has identified the San Luis Obispo Marathon + Half as one of its signature yearly events.

Marathon organizers expect the race to grow for 2014. The marathon and half marathon will cap out and those numbers will be announced in January. The event's 5K and Children’s race will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014. The cap for the 5K race is set at 1000 and has sold out each year. The Children’s Fun Run was a great success in it’s inaugural last year and is expected to grow for 2014.

"We have just a terrific partner in the City of San Luis Obispo hoteliers as our Title Sponsor," says Heather Hellman, SLO Marathon Event Director. "A number of the hotels are near the start and finish lines, making it convenient and easy for our participants during race weekend. Who better to host one of the premiere destination marathons in the nation.”

“The City of San Luis Obispo is excited to be a major sponsor of the SLO Marathon, again for the third year. This event provides both visitors and residents the opportunity to experience the active lifestyle San Luis Obispo is known for and at the same time explore the beautiful surroundings in and around our community. We are pleased to partner with such a great event.”
