SAN LUIS OPBISPO, CA – The 2014 San Luis Obispo Marathon and Half Marathon presented by LeftLaneSports.com is proud to partner with the Challenged Athletes Foundation Operation Rebound Program, the premier sports and fitness program for injured military personnel, veterans and first responders. San Luis Obispo Marathon + Half participants can fundraise for the organization by going to the CAF event fundraising page. The SLO Marathon will have injured veterans and first responders participating in the event and competing for awards in the Challenge Athlete category. Challenged Athletes wishing to compete can do so by contacting Race Director, Samantha Pruitt at email@example.com.
“We are so thrilled to have the Challenged Athlete Foundation’s Operation Rebound as a charity partner,” says Samantha Pruitt, Race Director. “We owe so much to these men and women for their service to our country and communities. It’s our pleasure to have them at our race and we hope to grow this program in the future.”
CAF Operation Rebound strengthens the mental and physical well-being of veterans and first responders with permanent physical injuries by providing them opportunities to use sports and fitness to re-integrate into our communities and by empowering them through sports to lead productive, active and fulfilling lives. Participation in Operation Rebound is open to any U.S. veteran or first responder with a permanent physical disability who served honorably.
“We look forward to partnering with the SLO Marathon to raise awareness about the abilities of our injured troops”, says CAF Operation Rebound Program Senior Manager Nico Marcolongo.
