Elite Athletes & Category Awards

RaceSLO events, including the San Luis Obispo Marathon + Half, produce world-class events on the Central Coast for athletes of all ages and abilities. Elite level athletes who meet the below minimum standards are eligible for prize money sponsored by LeftLane Sport and the SLO Marathon + Half.

Additional award categories include Military and First Responders, Challenged Athletes in partnership with the Challenged Athlete Foundation (CAF) and Operation Rebound, as well as Age Group. Leader Money Shot

2015 ELITES

Prize money for 2015 is yet to be determined. Prize money will be awarded to the first three places in the Marathon & Half Marathon for each gender sponsored by LeftLane Sports and the SLO Marathon + Half. The top three will be recognized on the podium at the finish line festival, while the top male and female in the marathon will receive a unique engraved antique cow bell. Overall awards are eligible for participating athletes.

2015 ELITE STANDARDS

Elite standards are minimum requirements to receive the following benefits; a complimentary race entry, invitation to the weekends VIP events, private packet pick up and race brief meeting with Race Director on Saturday, private start line shuttle and drop bag handler, private post-race recovery area with massage and refreshments. Elite entries are first come, first serve basis and are limited to 50 total - men and women both races. Additional event benefits may be considered based on personal records, accolades and connection to the Central Coast.   • * Performances from other distances may be considered, especially for recent post-collegiate runners.

    MILITARY & FIRST RESPONDER DIVISION

    The top three male and female finishers in this division will receive awards. To qualify you MUST pre-register within this division category or send us an email in advance of race weekend to move you into that category. No exceptions.

    CHALLENGED ATHLETES DIVISION

    In partnership with CAF and Operation Rebound the top three male and female finishers in this division will receive awards. To qualify you MUST pre-register within this division category or send us an email in advance of race weekend to move you into that category. No exceptions.

    AGE GROUP DIVISIONS

    Age group medals will be given to the top three males and top three females in each age category as follows. Awards must be picked up at the Finish Line Festival.
